Sebastian began their career in 1998 at Nokia, where they worked as a Technical Support Engineer, providing support and training on GSM Value Added Services. Sebastian then joined Surfgold in 2000 as a Wireless Technology Manager, focusing on product development and strategic partnerships. In 2001, they joined StarHub as a Product and Platform Manager, overseeing the development and rollout of data value-added services and mobile gaming products. Sebastian joined Nokia China in 2005 as a Senior Product Marketing and Go-to-Market Manager, leading successful product launches and campaign initiatives. In 2015, they worked briefly at Hewlett-Packard as a Mobility Specialist. Currently, Sebastian Lau is the Sales Director at BICS, responsible for overseeing business development and sales in the Asia Pacific region and collaborating with major IoT players, regional telcos, and enterprises to provide global data connectivity solutions. Throughout their career, Sebastian has demonstrated expertise in sales, marketing, product launches, and building strong relationships with clients.
Sebastian Lau began their education journey in 1992 when they enrolled at Nanyang Polytechnic. Over a period of two years, from 1992 to 1994, they pursued a Diploma with Merits in Electronic Engineering. Following this, in 1996, Sebastian joined the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and studied there for a year, completing a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree specializing in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering in 1997.
