Nikolaos Bournakas

Nikolaos Bournakas is a skilled research scientist currently employed at Bicycle Therapeutics since June 2021, with previous roles as an Associate Research Scientist. Prior to this, Nikolaos held positions at ALS Food & Pharmaceutical UK from May 2019 to June 2021, including Microbiology Lab Team Lead and Virology Lab Analyst. Experience also includes a Master Thesis Research Project at the University of Nottingham focused on the characterization of proteolytic activity in Clostridium sporogenes, and a Bachelor Thesis Research Project at the University of Crete involving the response of Drosophila melanogaster’s hindgut to chemical damage. Educational background comprises a Master of Science in Clinical and Molecular Microbiology from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Crete.
