Maura Frankman has extensive experience in volunteer work and professional roles, currently serving as a Volunteer Pet Therapy participant at Peconic Bay Medical Center and Health System since March 2017, where interactions with patients are facilitated through a certified therapy dog. Additionally, since June 2015, Maura has been a CGC/Trick Dog Evaluator for the American Kennel Club, assessing dogs and handlers for various titles. Maura has been a volunteer at Bideawee since May 2014, focusing on walking and socializing adoptable dogs and training new volunteers. A book reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More since September 2005 and for other literary platforms, Maura combines a rich background in law enforcement from a tenure as Deputy Sheriff in Suffolk County from February 1989 to February 2014 with a strong academic foundation comprising a Master's degree in Personnel Psychology from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York Cortland.
