Phil Bonnin has a diverse work experience spanning across various roles in the financial industry. Phil started their career as a Java Developer at Unisys, working on the Libra Project for Fujitsu Services. Phil then transitioned to become an Implementation Manager for the NavyNet project, where they gained experience in large LAN/WAN networks and managed network services.
Moving into the electronic trading industry, Bonnin worked as an Implementation Consultant for Liquidnet Europe Limited, integrating buy side firms' Order Management Systems or Execution Management Systems into Liquidnet's architecture. This role involved scoping user requirements, arranging network connectivity, system configuration, and overseeing the implementation cycle.
Bonnin then joined TradingScreen as a Client Implementation Manager, responsible for integrating buy and sell client Order Management Systems and Portfolio Management Systems into TradingScreen's architecture. Phil was highly experienced in FIX 4.0/4.
Next, Bonnin worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a FIX Onboarding Consultant, where they used the FIX protocol for client onboarding and exchange of information for electronic trading. Phil'sresponsibilities included certification testing, configuration, client customization, and technical support.
Phil then took on the role of a FIX Consultant at TradingScreen, handling various tasks related to the FIX protocol and electronic trading.
Bonnin's work also involved project management and business analysis. Phil worked at BNP Paribas as a Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager, and later at Bloomberg LP as a Mifid II implementation consultant.
Currently, Bonnin is the Head of Connectivity at BidFX, where they lead connectivity efforts for the company.
Phil Bonnin attended Robert Mays School from 1990 to 1995, where they studied various subjects including English and Maths. From 1995 to 1997, they attended Queen Mary's College in Basingstoke, where they obtained an A' Levels in Physics, Chemistry, Pure Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics. Finally, from 1997 to 2000, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Warwick.
