James Godden

Partner, Project Management at Bidwells LLP

With extensive experience working on historic building projects, James brings to the team a strong understanding of listed buildings and sites in conservation areas. Across all projects, he maintains close relationships with clients, ensuring objectives are delivered on time, in budget and to the project brief.

From preparing client briefs for a wide range of stakeholders to co-ordinating and monitoring teams, James is experienced in managing projects across the whole project lifecycle. He is also a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, allowing him to add value to projects by demonstrating a strong understanding of financial management.

James’ career in project management has largely been focused on Cambridge colleges, where he has developed expertise in the sector with long-standing clients. As a people person, he enjoys meeting the many different individuals involved with projects he works on as well as getting to spend time in historic college buildings.

Currently, James is working on commercial development and student residential projects, many of which are pushing the boundaries surrounding sustainability, setting ambitious targets surrounding carbon emissions and even aiming to achieve Passivhaus standard.
