Laura B. Carpenter has over 30 years of work experience, primarily in human resources and operations management. Laura B. is currently serving as the Director of People and Operations at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, where they are responsible for all HR and operations-related activities. Prior to this role, they worked as a Human Resources Manager at Rocky Mountain Health Care Services, where they implemented HR strategies, focused on employee engagement and diversity initiatives, and resolved employee issues. Laura also worked as an Independent Consultant at BLUEFIN, LLC, where they established an HR department and developed personnel policies and procedures. Additionally, they have held various HR management positions at organizations such as the University of Colorado at Boulder, Mortgage Solutions of Colorado, Stride, National Stroke Association, CET Environmental Services, Inc, and Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center. Overall, Laura has a diverse background in HR and operations and has demonstrated expertise in areas such as employee engagement, policies and procedures development, and strategic HR management.
Laura B. Carpenter has a diverse education history. In 1980, they obtained their high school diploma from Air Academy High School, where they studied General Studies. Laura B. then attended Rampart High School from 1982 to 1983 and received another diploma in General Studies.
After completing their high school education, Laura went on to pursue higher education. From 1995 to 1996, they attended the University of Phoenix and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During the same time, they also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
In recent years, Laura has continued their education. In 2019 and 2020, they attended Concordia University Irvine and completed a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership. Following that, from 2021 to 2022, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Executive Coaching and Consultation from the same institution.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Laura has also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they achieved the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. In 2015, they further expanded their expertise by obtaining the SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) certification from SHRM. The same year, they also became a certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) from Zentangle. Lastly, in 2021, they completed a program on Developing a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Program, offered by LinkedIn.
