Glen MacKay has a solid work experience spanning over several years. Glen started their career at Deals Only Web Store as a Full-Stack Web Developer, where they were responsible for creating web content for various selling platforms. Glen then worked at IronGate Enterprises as a Lead Developer, focusing on web development, project management, and utilizing future-facing web technologies.
Later, Glen joined Big Fish Games as a Game Engineer II, where they took ownership of new features being released, planned and developed server-side code, and created APIs and storage layers. Glen quickly progressed to the role of Senior Server Engineer, where they maintained the responsibilities of an Engineer II while leading as the primary server-side engineer for a new app.
Continuing their growth at Big Fish Games, Glen became a Software Engineering Manager, leading the Infrastructure Engineering and Tools Engineering teams. Glen was responsible for monitoring server performance, scaling features, and building and maintaining web-based admin tools.
Glen then moved on to the role of Senior Software Engineering Manager, expanding their responsibilities to include future vision and planning for the studio with new technologies and apps. Glen also led the engineering effort for a new major feature in the flagship apps, collaborating with multiple teams.
Currently, Glen is the Senior Manager of Data Engineering at Big Fish Games. Glen is breaking new ground by transforming the data pipeline with a new tech stack, moving to a cloud-native GCP - Snowflake - Looker stack. Glen manages a team of 16 people, owns vendor relationships, and builds streamlined and automated systems that provide business insights.

Glen MacKay completed their Bachelor's degree from Oberlin College between 2007 and 2011. Glen'smajors were Biology and Environmental Studies with a minor in Chemistry. Before attending Oberlin College, Glen attended Squalicum High School from 2003 to 2007.
