Grant Spencer

Grant Spencer is a seasoned manufacturing engineer with extensive experience in additive manufacturing and engineering design. Currently serving as the Lead Manufacturing Engineer at Big Metal Additive since September 2020, Grant specializes in wire-arc DED additive manufacturing and 5-axis machining for aerospace and defense applications. Prior to this role, Grant worked at Reno James Engineering as an Engineer, focusing on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial facilities. As a co-founder and Manufacturing Engineer at Proteus Snowboards, Grant played a key role in bringing an innovative composite layup product to market. Earlier experience includes positions as a 3D Printer Technician at Aleph Objects, where Grant managed automated FDM 3D printers, and as a Design Engineer at C&H Solutions, working on equipment for the energy and agricultural sectors. Grant holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
