Summary/Objective: 

Bigge is always on the lookout for trained, skilled mechanics to support our ever-growing fleet. Our goal is to become the largest crane company in America, and we need talented, dedicated crane mechanics to make that happen. To show our investment in our mechanics, Bigge has obtained tool insurance to cover our shop and field mechanics. Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and maintaining medium and light-duty vehicles and various types of yard equipment, including pressure washers and small forklifts with a primary focus on the service and repair of said equipment.
  • Must have a strong background in electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems.
  • Has at least 3 - 5 years of experience in the mechanical diagnosing, repairing, and maintenance of medium and light-duty vehicles focusing on gas and diesel pick-ups.
  • Will be able to work evenings and weekends for needed repairs in the shop.
  • Willing to make service calls as needed to “rescue” vehicles incapacitated out away from the shop.
  • Must be capable of communicating effectively and professionally with supervisors and other personnel.
  • Able to read schematics
  • Must be able to perform competent inspections of all vehicles and small equipment
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining medium and light-duty pick-ups with gas and diesel engine; vocational training may be considered in lieu of experience
  • Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision
  • Computer literate with the ability to process information
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Strong work ethics with a commitment to quality
  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various makes and models of medium and light-duty vehicles
  • A history of safe work habits
  • Hard worker with a great attitude
  • Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory
  • Have a clean driving record and can drive a company vehicle
  • A high school diploma is required and higher education including vocational training is a plus.
  • Must be able to keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs including daily service reports for any and all repairs or maintenance completed
