Catherine Escobedo

Catherine Escobedo serves as the Director of Operations and Legal Operations at BigPicture.io since October 2020, and has been Of Counsel at BARLAW - Barrera & Asociados since July 2013, providing legal opinions on trademark law and data privacy and representing the firm internationally. Catherine previously held the position of Senior Associate, leading the intellectual property prosecution and litigation as well as consumer protection sectors, where efforts included brand protection strategies and enforcement actions. Prior to these roles, Catherine contributed to various USAID projects as an Intellectual Property Component Leader and National Consultant, aiding the adaptation of Peru's IP laws and protocols. Early career experience includes legal consulting for HONDA DEL PERÚ and an associate role with PIEROLA & ASOCIADOS S.CIV.R.L., focusing on trademark and patent registration. Catherine holds a Master of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley, a diploma in Fashion Law from Fordham University School of Law, and various other qualifications in law and intellectual property from esteemed institutions.
