Mac Howison

Mac Howison has extensive experience in arts education, community engagement, and grantmaking, currently serving as Program Officer for Creative Learning at The Heinz Endowments since October 2017, focusing on creative opportunities for Pittsburgh's residents. As President of the Board of Directors for Bike Pittsburgh since 2011, Mac advocates for safe and accessible communities for biking and walking. Previously, as Senior Program Officer for Catalytic Funding at The Sprout Fund, Mac led grantmaking efforts, managing various funding programs and grantees. Additional experience includes managing staff at East End Food Co-Op, teaching at Carnegie Museum of Art, and serving as Lighthouse Interpreter at Oregon State Parks. Mac holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University.
