Andrea Vargas Guerra

Andrea Vargas Guerra, MPH, is a seasoned professional in global health, currently serving as an Associate Officer for R&D Initiatives at the Gates Foundation since July 2025, focusing on partnerships and insights within the Exemplars in Global Health program. Prior to this role, Andrea held various positions at Gates Ventures from November 2021 to July 2025, progressing from Analyst to Manager in Health & Life Sciences. Andrea's experience includes working as an Analyst at The Cadmus Group, a Case Investigator for Partners In Health, and leading a consultancy project with the Ministry of Health of Eswatini during the Harvard Ministerial Leadership Program. Early career experiences involve internships at Genocea Biosciences, the Massachusetts State Senate, and roles focused on public health in Colombia. Andrea holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Societies from the University of Pennsylvania.
