Giovanni Gioia

Giovanni Gioia has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Giovanni began their career as a Resource Management Group Express Track Intern at Express Scripts in 2010. Giovanni later joined the company full-time and held various roles, including Client Services Support Specialist, Coverage Review Department Research Analyst, Account Manager, and Senior Account Manager. In these positions, they managed client relationships, provided consultations, and resolved issues related to client benefit plans and Express Scripts products.

In 2016, Giovanni joined Empyrean Benefit Solutions, Inc. as a Client Services Manager, where they further developed their skills in client services and account management.

In 2017, they moved to Anthem, Inc. as a Director of Pharmacy Operations, where they were responsible for implementing strategic projects and plans, identifying potential issues, and leading efforts to identify best practices.

Currently, Giovanni works at Surest as the Pharmacy Operations - Principal Lead. In this role, they oversee the company's complete pharmacy portfolio, develops competitive pharmacy product offerings, improves member experience, and increases overall plan sponsor savings. Giovanni is also responsible for identifying new contract opportunities and executing contracts with preferred pharmacy benefit managers.

Throughout their career, Giovanni has demonstrated strong organizational skills, research expertise, and a dedication to providing excellent customer service.

Giovanni Gioia, MHA pursued an Executive Master of Healthcare Administration degree in the field of Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies in Business Administration with a focus on Health Care Management at the University of Minnesota Duluth from 2005 to 2009.
