Binnie has an exciting new opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join our growing Company of over 350 staff. This position is at our corporate Head Office in Burnaby near scenic Deer Lake. While based out of Burnaby, this position also offers a hybrid work environment.

As an Accounting Clerk at Binnie, you will provide support for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and timely financial transactions. The role will also support the payment and collection processes and assist with various accounting tasks as needed.

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and improve our financial processes, contribute to the civil engineering industries, and be a vital part of our dynamic team.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Prepare and send monthly AR Statements to Clients and coordinate collection of overdue payments with Project Managers.

  • Receive client payments and vendor invoices and accurately code the accounting system.

  • Set-up payment portals or EFT documentation with clients to facilitate timely invoice payments.

  • Respond to inquiries and effectively communicate with clients and internal teams regarding outstanding invoices and discrepancies, via email or phone call.

  • Prepare batches for semi-monthly payment runs (EFT, cheques).

  • Provide support with ad-hoc accounting projects and other assignments.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A minimum of 3 years previous experience in Account Payable and Account Receivable or similar
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Certified Professional Bookkeeper will be a bonus.
  • Previous experience working in architecture, construction, civil engineering industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Previous experience with Deltek (Vision/DPS/Vantagepoint) and database skills will be a bonus.
  • Client service oriented and team player

Salary is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is: CA$52,000 .00 - CA$62,000.00 annually.
