Sofie Lodens

Sofie Lodens serves as the Project Acquisition Coordinator at Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant since February 2020, overseeing multiple projects including WASTE2FUNC, AC2GEN, FUCATIL, SECRETed, and ELLIPSE. Prior to this role, Sofie worked as a Teaching Assistant and PhD Researcher at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering from March 2014 to January 2020, focusing on the genetic and metabolic engineering of sophorolipid producing yeast strains. Sofie's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioscience Engineering from Ghent University and a Master in Biochemical Engineering Technology. Additionally, Sofie has experience as a PhD Student and Scientific Collaborator at VIB-UGent, working on mouse genetics in inflammation. Educational credentials also encompass a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical & Biological Laboratory Technology and a specific teacher training qualification.
