Kara Kimmel

Kara Kimmel has a strong background in mechanical engineering and product development. Kara worked at Bio-Rad Laboratories from 2009 to the present as the Mechanical Engineering Group Lead/Manager, where they managed a team and led the development of various imaging systems and chromatography accessories. Before that, they were a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Bio-Rad Laboratories from 2009 to 2014, where they focused on designing and improving plastic consumables for electrophoresis devices. Prior to Bio-Rad Laboratories, they worked at Applied Biosystems/Life Technologies as a Staff Engineer and Senior Manufacturing Engineer, where they designed and maintained plastic consumables for biotech instrumentation. Kara also worked at TG Missouri as a Process Engineer, where they processed injection molding parts and established manufacturing procedures for automotive releases.

Kara Kimmel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1992. Kara later pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the same institution and completed it in 1999.
