John Hemeon

John Hemeon currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Mastronardi Produce Limited, the leading greenhouse vegetable operator in North America, marketing flavorful products globally under the SUNSET brand. Mr. Hemeon has P&L and leadership responsibility for procurement, logistics, operations, and human resources, along with developing growth strategies and inspiring success in people.

Previously, Mr. Hemeon spent seven years with Tim Hortons as Executive Vice President of Supply Chain, where he was accountable for the end-to-end global supply chain infrastructure and operations, and prior to that he enjoyed a 25-year career with Sysco, culminating in the role of Executive Vice President. He has a record of success in strategic growth, and in managing operations and profitability, with a decisive entrepreneurial leadership style.

Mr. Hemeon has over 35 years of business leadership experience, across organizational and international boundaries, including sales and marketing, business development, merger and acquisition, strategy, human resources, innovation, collaboration, and negotiation. His roles have included working closely with public and private company boards.

Mr. Hemeon earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Guelph. He previously was a member of the Policy Advisory Board for the University of Guelph and was an ambassador for the Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation. He currently is an advisor for Nexe Innovations Incorporated, a British Columbia-based advanced materials company, founded in 2015, that has developed a fully compostable (plant based) single-serve beverage capsule for use in existing single-serve beverage machines.
