Microbiome Programme Head at BIOASTER

Romain Daillère has extensive experience in the field of immunotherapy and the microbiome. Romain is currently the Microbiome Programme Head at BIOASTER since 2023. Prior to that, they were a Board Member at the Pharmabiotic Research Institute (PRI) starting from 2022.

From 2018 to 2023, Romain Daillère was the Head of Preclinical Research and Co-founder at EVERIMMUNE, a biotech company focused on utilizing the microbiome for cancer diagnosis and therapy. Romain co-founded EVERIMMUNE and was involved in pioneering discoveries related to the composition of the intestinal microbiota and its role in cancer treatment.

Before founding EVERIMMUNE, Romain Daillère worked as a Research Scientist at Gustave Roussy from 2012 to 2018. Romain co-founded the biotech company EverImmune and served as a Head of Project during this time. Romain also conducted PhD and Post Doc studies at Gustave Roussy, focusing on the impact of the gut microbiota on the efficacy of anticancer regimens.

Prior to their work at Gustave Roussy, Romain Daillère was a Research Scholar at The Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard in 2012, where they contributed to the characterization of virus-specific NK cells. Romain also worked as a Research Scholar at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) in 2010, focusing on the function of hemidesmosomes during cell migration.

Romain Daillère gained research experience even before completing their education. In 2009, they interned at Université d'Angers, investigating virulence genes from Acinetobacter baumanii using electroporation technology.

Throughout their career, Romain Daillère has utilized various techniques such as immune assays, multicolor flow cytometry, bacterial culture, and data analysis. Romain has also demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing research projects, students, technicians, and engineers.

Romain Daillère has a diverse educational background with a focus on biotechnology and cancer research. Romain completed their doctoral degree, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), in Cancer Research - Immunology at Université Paris-Saclay from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Engineering - Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology from Ecole Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg (ESBS) between 2009 and 2012. Romain also pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology and Therapeutic Innovations from the University of Strasbourg from 2010 to 2012. Romain'searlier education includes earning a DUT Génie Biologie in Analyses biologiques et biochimiques from Université d'Angers from 2007 to 2009.
