Poonam Setlur has a diverse work experience in both the biotechnology and forensic science fields. Poonam began their career as a DNA Technician at Bode Technology in January 2013. From there, they advanced to the roles of Forensic DNA Analyst I and Quality Control Analyst, and then to Forensic DNA Trainer, before joining Sorenson Forensics as a Forensic DNA Analyst II in July 2016. In October 2018, they transitioned to Biocare Medical as a Documentation Specialist & Research Associate. Poonam then progressed to the role of Product Design Associate I in February 2020, and currently holds the position of Product Design Associate II. In this role, Poonam collaborates closely with the Product Development Manager and VP of R&D to manage products throughout their lifecycle. Poonam is responsible for tracking progress, coordinating cross-functional transfers, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. Poonam has successfully delivered numerous new product designs and optimizations during their time at Biocare Medical.
Poonam Setlur earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biotechnology from James Madison University, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Forensic Science at George Mason University from 2012 to 2013. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (ICYB) from Sorenson Forensics in July 2017. Recently, in June 2021, they completed a President's Kaizen Event at Biocare Medical. Poonam is currently actively seeking a PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute.
