Sungwon Kim

Sungwon Kim currently serves as the Head of Research and Development at BioChek since May 2025. Prior to this role, Sungwon was with Touchlight, progressing from Senior Scientist in Vaccines to Group Lead in Cell Biology between February 2020 and May 2025. Sungwon's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Animal Sciences from Virginia Tech and two Master's degrees in Animal Science and Biology from the University of Delaware and Changwon National University, respectively. Research experience spans various institutions, including serving as a Postdoctoral Scientist at The Royal Veterinary College, leading a project focused on interleukin-10's role in chicken immunity, and conducting transcriptome analysis at The Roslin Institute. Early career roles include post-doctoral research at Virginia Tech, research assistance at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, and a position as a visiting scientist at USDA-ARS.
