James Brown is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as Course Director for the Biomolecular Science MSc program at the University of Limerick since September 2023. With extensive experience in editorial roles, including Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and a member of the Biochemical Society Publications Committee, James has made significant contributions to the field of biochemistry and molecular biology. Notably, James has held various positions at the University of Limerick, including Associate Professor and Chair of the Athena Swan departmental Committee, which achieved a Bronze Award in 2021. Additionally, James has been involved in leadership roles with the Irish Association for Cancer Research, including Senior Council member and inaugural Chair of the Junior Council. James's research focus is on breast cancer, particularly the discovery and characterization of novel circulating biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment. Academically, James holds multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. from the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and a Master's degree in Business and Leadership Development from the University of Galway.
