Donald Fong currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer and VP, Global Medical Lead at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since April 2024. In addition, Donald holds the position of Clinical Professor at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine since April 2021 and has previously worked as VP, Head of Ophthalmology at Annexon Biosciences until March 2024. Donald's extensive experience in ophthalmology includes roles as Chief of the Dept of Ophthalmology and Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Medicine from August 2015 to December 2023, as well as serving as the Creator and Physician Director of the Kaiser Permanente Eye Monitoring Center until May 2021. Donald's medical background includes a fellowship in Clinical Trials from the National Institutes of Health, a residency in Ophthalmology from Harvard Medical School, and an MD from UT Health San Antonio, complemented by an MPH focusing on Quantitative Methods from Harvard T.H.
