Andrew Gilbert is a seasoned professional in the field of wildlife ecology and geospatial science, currently serving as the Senior Geospatial Scientist and Technology Director, as well as the Data Management Director at the Biodiversity Research Institute since August 2010. In this role, responsibilities include overseeing data management, database design, GIS mapping and analysis, and IT management, in addition to conducting fieldwork focused on seabirds and other marine taxa. Prior to this, Andrew worked as a Wildlife Biologist at the U.S. Geological Survey from May 2002 to April 2011, participating in various projects including mammal inventories in National Parks and studies of wetlands and marine mammal data. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Maine and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Bowdoin College.
