Laboratory Technician
Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician is responsible to weigh, measure, pipette, and check raw materials to ensure that manufacturing reagents contain the proper ingredients and meet quality standards. Their primary responsibility will be to formulate wet and freeze-dried reagents, buffer sub-assemblies, and finished goods. They will have a knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures including PCR, RT-PCR real time PCR, and use of fluorescence based nucleic acid detection techniques. The lab technician will rely on pre-established written guidelines to perform job functions. They will be responsible for maintaining formulation labs and associated spaces.
The Laboratory Technician will work in a clean room environment preparing reagents for use in medical devices. Appropriate use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a requirement to perform routine and non-routine duties. Key skills required:
Education and Experience
Minimum: Actively enrolled in 2-year degree in science field with 1+ years scientific/laboratory experience. High school diploma required.
