Jared Helm

Scientist 2 at BioFire Defense

Jared Helm has a diverse work experience in the field of research. Jared started their career as a Graduate Student at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine in 2000 and continued until 2007. Jared then joined the University of Montana as a Postdoc and received an NRSA grant for their research on α-synuclein and ER-to-Golgi transport in mammalian cells. In 2014, Jared became a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Utah Health Sciences, where they worked until 2015. Currently, they hold the position of Scientist 2 at BioFire Defense, starting in 2016.

Jared Helm has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry, which they obtained from Brigham Young University from 1997 to 2000. Following their undergraduate studies, Jared pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. Jared completed their doctoral studies at this institution from 2000 to 2007.
