Björn Friedrichs

Björn Friedrichs, PhD, is currently the Deputy Head of Medical Device Regulatory Affairs and Development Department at Biofrontera Group, where responsibilities include the approval of a Class III drug-device combination product under NDA with the FDA, along with coordination and maintenance of approval documentation per 21 CFR regulations. In addition to this role, Björn has been a lecturer at HSD Hochschule Döpfer since November 2019, teaching hygiene, microbiology, and scientific fundamentals. Prior experience includes serving as an Expert in Regulatory Affairs and Technical Director at NW-Chemie GmbH, where responsibilities involved compliance with medical device regulations and conducting clinical evaluations, as well as leading hygiene consulting efforts and training staff at HyCo GmbH. Björn has also held positions at Wachendorff-Chemie GmbH, contributed as a freelance writer focusing on hygiene, and worked as a research associate at the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Genetics from the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne and a diploma in Biology from the University of Cologne.
