Gianfranco Grompone

Gianfranco Grompone serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at BioGaia AB since January 2020, bringing extensive experience from previous roles including Discovery Nutrition & Health Science Lead at Lesaffre, and Head of the Agro-Bio-Business Unit at INIA Uruguay. Prior to these positions, Gianfranco held significant roles at BIOASTER as Head of Microbiota Unit, Senior Science Manager at Danone Research, and led the Tech Transfer Unit at the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral position at the Institut Pasteur Paris focusing on microbial pathogenicity. Gianfranco earned a PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Cellular Biology from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Rennes.
