Ann-Jay Tong

Ann-Jay Tong is a highly experienced scientist specializing in biomarker and translational immunology. Currently serving as Principal Scientist at Biogen since September 2025, Ann-Jay previously held roles as Associate Director and Principal Scientist at Allogene Therapeutics, where responsibilities included the identification of critical quality attributes for drug products. At Genentech, from August 2016 to March 2023, Ann-Jay focused on cancer immunology, working on RNA-based vaccines and individualized therapies that leverage single-cell technologies. Ann-Jay's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Immunology from UCLA and a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley, with early research contributions involving innate immunity and transcriptional regulation.
