Cathy Muste

Cathy Muste is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in analytical chemistry and biopharmaceutical development. Currently, as a Senior Scientist in DMPK - Biotransformation at Biogen, Cathy focuses on metabolite identification of small molecules and oligonucleotides, enzymatic mechanism studies, and covalent protein binding research. In addition to their role at Biogen, Cathy operates as a self-employed consultant, providing guidance on technical and business strategies to biotech startups. Prior experience includes positions at GSK, Avid Radiopharmaceuticals, West Pharmaceutical Services, and Merck, where Cathy specialized in mass spectrometry characterization, impurity identification, and method development. Cathy holds a PhD and MS in Analytical Chemistry from Drexel University and Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively, along with a BS in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan.
