Noor Syamila Othman (PhD)

Noor Syamila Othman (PhD) has a diverse work experience in various research and internship roles. Noor Syamila'smost recent position was as a Biosensor Researcher at Biogenes Technologies since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Universiti Putra Malaysia from 2018 to 2022. In this role, they developed a new immunosensor technique for detecting antibodies and conducted extensive research, resulting in a thesis dissertation, research articles, a patent filing, and multiple conference presentations. Noor Syamila also had a research attachment at Kyushu Institute of Technology in 2018, where they conducted peptide synthesis and studied interactions between bio-nanogate components. Earlier in their career, they worked on a Final Year Project at International Islamic University Malaysia, focusing on the expression of microRNA-744 in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma. Noor Syamila also completed internships at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah and Malaysia Genome Institute, where they gained hands-on experience in different pathology laboratories and biological sample handling.

Noor Syamila first pursued their Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Honour) in Molecular Medicine at the International Islamic University Malaysia from 2013 to 2017. Afterward, they advanced their studies at the Universiti Putra Malaysia, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Nanobiotechnology from 2018 to 2022.
