Catarina Pereira

Catarina Pereira is a PhD student at BioSys, currently working on the development of CyFi-MAP, a disease map repository focusing on cystic fibrosis molecular mechanisms. Previously, Catarina held a research fellowship at i3S, where Catarina assessed the impact of specific genes on the virulence of Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilms. Catarina also conducted a Master's thesis at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, focusing on the characterization of clinical isolates from Mycobacterium tuberculosis in a BSL-3 laboratory. Catarina has earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology, a Master's degree in Applied Microbiology, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Systems Biology.
