Arlene Doria has a long and varied work experience. Arlene began their career in 2002 as a Process Analyst II and Process Analyst at Biosite. In 2004, they were promoted to Senior Process Analyst, where they analyzed performance data of diagnostic products produced in manufacturing, brainstormed, developed, and implemented processes and procedures to improve quality control, and was relied on as a problem solver. In 2010, they became a Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Irvine, where they developed innovative diagnostic technology utilizing microfluidics and imaging sensors. Her dissertation research employed statistical analysis, such as fractional factorial design, flow simulations, Monte Carlo simulations, inferential statistics, and various laboratory techniques. In 2013, they became the CEO and founder of Defineqa Inc., where they owned and operated a small business. As the leader, they created and managed the budget, wrote and executed the business plan, evaluated vendors, structured partnerships with other organizations, acquired funding, wrote and managed the intellectual property, and performed research and development. In 2016, they joined Dexcom as an Engineering Supervisor and Senior Process Engineer. In 2020, they became a Senior Manager Assay Technology Transfer at Truvian and an Associate Staff Engineer - R&D Systems Engineering at BD. Arlene is currently a Senior Manager Design V&V at Biolinq.
Arlene Doria received their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Biology/Biological Sciences, General from UC Irvine in 2002. Arlene then returned to UC Irvine in 2009 and received their Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering in 2011. In 2014, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine.
