Leyla Bustamante

Leyla Bustamante is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology. Currently serving as the Head of Research & Development at BioLumic since February 2019, Leyla directs the Science R&D team to innovate UV treatments that enhance product development. Prior to this role, Leyla held positions such as Scientist at the Ferrier Research Institute, Associate Research Fellow at the University of Canterbury, Scientific Manager at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at St George's, University of London. Leyla earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
