Glenn Smith

Glenn Smith is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, currently serving as Executive Director, R&D Quality/Compliance and Product Quality Lifecycle Management at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. since December 2021. Prior to this role, Glenn held several senior positions at Bayer, leading quality initiatives for a new Cell Culture Technical Center and a cell/gene therapy platform. Extensive experience at Genentech included leadership in global quality control and oversight for various biologics projects. Previous positions also include roles at Medtronic Vascular, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and The Clorox Company, demonstrating a robust background in chemistry and analytical methods development. Glenn Smith holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Science degree in Energy Systems Management from the University of San Francisco.
