Aaron Schacht's work experience starts with their role as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director at BiomEdit, a biotechnology company focused on animal health product innovation using the science of the microbiome. Aaron joined this company in April 2022.
Aaron also serves as a Non-Executive Director at both Scout Bio and Redux Bio, starting in February 2022 and March 2022, respectively.
Before these positions, Aaron was a Board Member at the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute starting in January 2021 and an Executive Board Member & Chairman Emeritus at AgriNovus Indiana starting in January 2016.
In December 2021, Aaron became the President/CEO of MBRD Service Company, LLC, which focuses on providing MicroBiome-related R&D services. Prior to that, they had various roles at Elanco Animal Health, starting with Vice President of Global R&D/Regulatory/Bus Dev’t/Nutritional Health from October 2015 to September 2018. Later, they served as Executive Vice President of Innovation, Regulatory & Business Development from September 2018 to October 2021.
Aaron's work experience also includes leadership positions at Eli Lilly and Company. Aaron began as Director of the eLilly Innovation Center in November 2002 and then progressed to roles such as Executive Director of R&D Strategy, Portfolio, and Project Management in September 2005, Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer of Global External R&D from October 2008 to December 2011, and Global Brand Development Leader - Pain - Lilly BioMedicines from February 2014 to September 2015.
Before joining Eli Lilly and Company, Aaron was the CEO/Co-Founder of Artesian Therapeutics, a cardiovascular small molecule drug development company, from February 2002 to November 2002.
Earlier in their career, Aaron worked at Eli Lilly and Company as a Medicinal Chemist from July 1990 to August 1995, where they were involved in multiple patents and contributed to the development of Exanta. Aaron also held roles such as Productivity Projects Associate, Manager of Discovery Strategy/Productivity, Director of Knowledge Management, and Managing Director of Lilly University, where they led the Global Training and Development Organization and launched an enterprise e-Learning platform.
Aaron Schacht attended Pecatonica High School from 1981 to 1985, where they completed their College Prep degree. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1985 to 1990, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry.
