Jacob Kapala

Jacob Kapala has extensive work experience in various roles related to electrical engineering. Jacob currently works as a Lead Electrical Engineer at BioMEMS Diagnostics since August 2022. Prior to this, they held the same position at the same company from October 2021 to August 2022.

Before joining BioMEMS Diagnostics, Jacob co-founded ProstheTech LLC in 2019, where they were responsible for developing and assembling EMG acquisition and motor control electronic systems for myoelectric prosthetic hands. Jacob also collaborated with the co-founders on product, team, and brand development.

From 2019 to 2022, Jacob worked at Indiana Integrated Circuits, LLC as a Research and Development Engineer. Jacob was involved in tasks such as fabricating IC wafers using various techniques, assembling and testing IC wafers with proprietary Quilt Packaging technology, and designing masks for lithography.

Prior to that, Jacob worked as a Research Engineering Intern at the same company, where they assembled and tested IC wafers with Quilt Packaging technology, designed electronic printed circuit boards, and acted as a liaison between research and fabrication teams.

In addition, Jacob gained experience as an Electrical Engineering Lab Assistant at the University of Notre Dame's Department of Electrical Engineering. Their responsibilities included critiquing lab materials, ensuring compatibility with different electrical equipment sets, and providing photos for teaching purposes.

Before pursuing their engineering career, Jacob worked as a Summer Construction Intern at Selge Construction in 2017 and as a Facility Engineer Intern at AM General in 2016. These positions involved various tasks, including equipment inventory, CAD design updates, and facility maintenance.

Jacob Kapala completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Math/Physics at Bethel University from 2014 to 2017. Jacob then went on to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Notre Dame from 2017 to 2019, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree.
