Loic DEBLAIS

Loic DEBLAIS has worked in various research roles since 2010. Loic began as a Research Assistant at Environment and Climate Change Canada in 2010. In 2012, they moved to FUNGISEM as a Research Assistant, where they studied the role of specific genes in the plant model Arabidopsis thaliana against the fungi Alternaria alternata and characterized the role of specific genes in Magnaporthe grisea in the susceptibility to specific antimicrobials. In 2013, they moved to Colorado State University as a Research Assistant. In 2014, they joined The Ohio State University as a Lead Scientist/Principal Investigator (Post-doctoral researcher). During this role, they established and led a diagnostic laboratory in rural eastern Ethiopia, provided support and guidance to faculty members, secured research funds, and studied the impact of enteric pathogens, therapeutics, and dietary supplements on the human microbiome and metabolome, and immune responses. In 2022, they moved to Arbiom as a Lead Research Scientist.

Loic DEBLAIS began their educational journey in 2006 at High School Jacque Monod. From 2008 to 2010, they attended the University of Pau and Adour Countries, where they earned an Associate's degree in bioengineered, food production, microbiology and food safety. In 2010, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Botany/Plant Biology at Universit\u00e9 d'Angers. Loic then pursued a 1st year Master degree in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology, microbiology at Universit\u00e9 d'Angers from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, they completed a 2nd year Master degree in Integrative plant biology : plant, gene, Agro-system at Universit\u00e9 de Rennes I. In 2013, they served as a Research assistant at Colorado State University in Plant pathology. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Food Safety at The Ohio State University from 2014 to 2018.
