Davide Confalonieri

Davide Confalonieri, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of preclinical research and sales within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Davide is currently serving as the VP of Sales & Projects for the Preclinical Research department at Biomex GmbH, where they are responsible for driving sales, managing projects, and coordinating the development of new products and services. Prior to this, they held roles at Lonza as the Head of Export & Distribution for EMEA and as a Channel Manager for Sales EU. In these positions, they managed sales organizations, provided scientific training and technological solutions to researchers, and focused on the development of cell therapies and biotechnological pharmaceuticals. Davide also has experience as a PhD Researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology, where they contributed to the development of a cell-based therapy for bone regeneration. Additionally, they have worked as a Guest Scientist at the Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologia dei Materiali Ceramici and FUJIFILM Manufacturing Europe B.V., completed an internship at FONDAZIONE IRCCS ISTITUTO NAZIONALE DEI TUMORI, and served as an Undergraduate Researcher at Ospedali Riuniti di Trieste. Throughout their career, Davide has published papers, deposited patents, and presented their research in international conferences.

Davide Confalonieri, PhD, has an impressive education history spanning various disciplines. In 2008, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the Università di Pavia. Davide further pursued their education and earned a Master's degree in Medical Biotechnologies and Molecular Medicine from the University of Milan in 2013.

In 2014, Davide embarked on their doctoral studies at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, specializing in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. After completing their research, they were awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2017.

Davide's interest in entrepreneurship led him to pursue further studies at the Innovations- und Gründerzentrum Würzburg (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) in 2016 and 2017, with a focus on Imprenditoria (Entrepreneurship).

To enhance their managerial skills, Davide pursued postgraduate education in Business Administration. In 2022, they enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at London South Bank University, where their field of study was Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, they pursued an MBA degree at IU International University of Applied Sciences in the same year.

Complementing their academic achievements, Davide obtained various certifications to expand their knowledge and skill set. Notably, they completed courses such as "Create a Brand Strategy" and "Product Management First Steps" from LinkedIn, "Finance for Non-Financial Managers" from LinkedIn, and "Supply Chain and Operations Management Tips" from LinkedIn, among others.
