Odessa M. Gomez, PhD

Odessa M. Gomez, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Currently, they serve as the Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation Assessment Program Supervisor at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Associate and Research Faculty at the University of Colorado Boulder, focusing on various research projects. Odessa M. also served as a Technical Consultant for Research and Implementation at the Biomimicry Design Alliance. Additionally, Dr. Gomez worked as an Adjunct Teaching Faculty at the Colorado School of Mines and as the Chief Scientist at DetectionTek Holdings, LLC. Odessa M. has also held research and teaching positions at the University of Colorado Boulder, Department of Integrative Physiology. Early in their career, they were a Graduate Student / Research Assistant and an EPA Science To Achieve Results (STAR) Graduate Fellow at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Gomez also gained experience as a Graduate Fellow through the NSF Graduate STEM Fellow in K-12 Education program. Their work in academia began as a Graduate Student/Research Assistant/Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Odessa M. Gomez, PhD, has an extensive education history in the field of engineering. Odessa M. began their studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2003 and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Odessa M. then went on to pursue further education at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering from 2007 to 2009.

Not content with their accomplishments so far, Gomez continued their studies at the University of Colorado Boulder and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Environmental Engineering from 2010 to 2016.
