Andrew Owens

Andrew Owens is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in biochemistry and application science. Currently serving as a Field Application Scientist II at Bionano Genomics, Inc. since October 2022, Andrew specializes in customer training, experiment design, and technical seminars related to genomic technologies. Prior to this, Andrew worked at Invitae as a Field Application Scientist, providing post-sales and pre-sales support for Next Generation Sequencing products. At Merck, Andrew held the position of Sr. Scientist, leading projects focused on biocatalytic enzymes and therapeutic proteins. Andrew began a rigorous academic journey at the University of Rochester, achieving a Ph.D. in Chemistry, where significant discoveries were made, including patented peptide inhibitors. Andrew also has experience from an internship at Genentech, contributing to the identification of therapeutic peptide inhibitors.
