Mattias Björnmalm

Mattias Björnmalm, PhD, serves as the Secretary General of CESAER since August 2019, previously holding the roles of Deputy Secretary General and Senior Advisor for Research & Innovation at the same organization. Additionally, Mattias is an Invited Member of the Science/Technology & Policy Expert Network at the World Economic Forum and holds the position of Honorary Research Fellow at the Bionics Institute. Previously, Mattias served as Vice-Chair of the Policy Working Group of the Marie Curie Alumni Association and as Editor at Angle Journal. Academic experience includes roles as Research Fellow and Honorary Fellow at Imperial College London and the University of Melbourne, respectively, along with postdoctoral and doctoral research in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Educational credentials include a PhD from the University of Melbourne and an MSc in Engineering Nanoscience from Lund University.
