Ruba Halaoui

Ruba Halaoui, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist at Tome Biosciences, where responsibilities include implementing CRISPR-based gene editing technology for primary human T cells and iPSCs, leading cell line selection for iPSC-derived Cell Therapy programs, and developing workflows for gene edits. Previously, Ruba served as Scientist II and Scientist I at PlateletBio, focusing on genetic engineering of iPSCs and mentoring team members. Ruba's background includes a Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from McGill University, where research concentrated on early breast cancer development and involvement in teaching and student mentorship. Ruba has also worked at Cheeky Scientist and the Goodman Cancer Research Centre, contributing to research advancements and establishing collaborative initiatives.
