Sheena Pinto

Sheena Pinto serves as the Associate Director of Translational Sciences at BioNTech SE since March 2024, bringing extensive experience in translational research and immuno-oncology. Previously, Sheena held multiple roles at Affimed from August 2020 to March 2024, including Senior Translational Project Leader, where responsibilities encompassed leading biomarker strategies for clinical trials, designing immune-based assays, and overseeing collaborations with academic partners and CROs. Prior experience includes senior roles in drug discovery at Phenex Pharmaceuticals and postdoctoral research at the German Cancer Research Center, focusing on gene expression and cancer immunology. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Immunology from DKFZ and a Master's degree from the University of Hamburg.
