Dr. Omer Kucuk is a Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology and Professor of Urology at the Emory University School of Medicine (Atlanta, GA). He is also Leader of the Prostate Cancer Research Program, Director of the Multidisciplinary Genitourinary Oncology Working Group, Member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program and Member of the Drug Development and Therapeutics Program at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. He is board certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. His primary research focus is on nutrition and cancer therapy and innovative treatments for prostate and bladder cancers utilizing combinations of traditional treatments and nutritional agents. He has conducted clinical trials with lycopene and soy isoflavones in combination with standard therapy for prostate cancer and was the first to report the benefits of both natural products in prostate cancer treatment. Dr. Kucuk has more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, review articles and book chapters to his credit, and he is on the editorial boards of numerous publications, including the Cancer Detection and Prevention and Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention, Annals of Medical Sciences, Turkish Journal of Cancer, International Journal of Hematology and Oncology, Advances in Molecular Medicine, Cancer Detection and Prevention, Cancer Epidemiology, ISRN Nutrition, The Open Access Journal of Science and Technology and the Journal of Cancer Prevention.
