Michael Rees has had a varied and successful career in the medical device industry. In 2012, they began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Grill Lab, where they developed a computational model of brainstem structures. From 2014 to 2015, they worked at Edwards Lifesciences as a Process Development Team Lead, R&D Engineer, and TDP Engineer. In 2014, they also held a Quality Engineering Internship at Stryker. In 2020, they worked as a Management Consultant at Grant Instruments (Cambridge) Ltd and as an MBA Candidate at Cambridge Judge Business School. Most recently, in 2021, they have been working as a Technical Operations Manager at BIOS Health Ltd, as well as a Medical Device Consultant at Charco and a Business Development role at BIOS Health Ltd, where they devised and deployed a quantitative M&A model to evaluate the commercial and strategic attractiveness of 50+ companies within the neuromodulation landscape.
Michael Rees obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University between 2011 and 2015. Michael also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification – Level I from Edwards Lifesciences, which they obtained in December 2019.
