Jakub Palenik has a range of experience in the field of research and development. Jakub has worked as a Senior R&D Software Engineer at BioSort AS since 2020, primarily focused on developing a computer vision system for gathering fish welfare indicators. Jakub also designed and developed a real-time computer vision processing pipeline and image acquisition system. Prior to this, they worked as an R&D Software Engineer at BioSort AS from 2020 to 2021.
Before joining BioSort AS, Jakub worked as a Research and Development Engineer at The Future Group AS from 2018 to 2020, where they specialized in designing and developing computer vision algorithms for VR and AR real-time video production systems. Jakub also had a project-based role as an IT Consultant, developing tailor-made mobile applications for Android and iOS as a self-employed contractor in 2018.
In 2018, Jakub worked as a Research and Development Engineer at CAMVISION s.r.o. where they focused on designing and developing real-time computer vision algorithms for a Telestrator. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Assistant at Masaryk University Brno from 2015 to 2018, conducting research in the field of bio-medical image processing, specifically in developing segmentation techniques for TEM images and researching hierarchical methods of mathematical morphology on bio-images. Jakub also had a short internship at s IT Solutions in 2015.
Jakub Palenik has a Master's degree in Image Processing & Computer Graphics from Masaryk University Brno. Jakub also attended the Summer School of Advanced Methods in Biomedical Image Analysis at Masaryk University Brno. Furthermore, they hold a Master's degree in GVR (Graphics, Vision and Robotics) from the National School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of Grenoble. Jakub completed their Bachelor's degree in Image Processing & Computer Graphics at Masaryk University Brno.
