Matteo Cristiani has a diverse work experience starting from their role as a PhD student and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pisa, where they worked under the research group of Prof. Ennio Arimondo. Matteo then joined ICFO as a postdoctoral researcher and later became a research fellow under the guidance of Prof. Jürgen Eschner and Prof. Hugues de Riedmatten. Following their time at ICFO, Matteo worked as a freelance writer and published a novel based on their experience as a scientist as well as a book on popular science. Matteo is currently employed at Biosystems S.A. as an R+D Scientist. Prior to this, they worked at Radiantis as a Design Engineer, leading a team responsible for transforming laboratory prototypes into commercial products.
Matteo Cristiani completed a Laurea in fisica, with a specialization in Atomic/Molecular Physics, at Università di Pisa from 1996 to 2001. Later, they pursued a Dottorato in Fisica, again specializing in Atomic/Molecular Physics, from 2002 to 2005 at the same institution.
