Cynthia Cheatham has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Cynthia currently serves as the Managing Director of Industry Programs and DEI Initiatives at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), where they oversee session development and speakers for their business development and investor events. Prior to this, Cynthia was the Director of Industry Research and Education at BIO, managing content for C-Suite executives, business development leads, and investors in the biotech industry. Cynthia has also worked as the Senior Manager of Education at BIO, developing educational content and launching initiatives for the biotechnology workforce.
Before joining BIO, Cynthia worked at the Society for Neuroscience as the Professional Development and Global Programs Manager, where they managed grant programs and organized professional development events for underrepresented communities in neuroscience. Cynthia also had a role as the Annual Meeting Program Coordinator for the Society for Neuroscience, supporting a committee in reviewing conference submissions and managing the Continuing Medical Education Program.
Cynthia's earlier experience includes working as a Human Rights Fellow at AFL CIO, where they created programming for underrepresented communities in the labor movement and contributed to policy and strategy meetings. Cynthia also had a fellowship as an African Globalism Fellow at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.
