Hellen Hou

Hellen Hou has a diverse professional background spanning over 15 years. Hellen most recently served as the Senior Director of Finance at Biotricity Inc., where they were responsible for overseeing all finance operations, managing SEC reporting compliance, and building and managing the finance team.

Prior to their role at Biotricity Inc., Hellen worked at Dessa, an AI technology startup based in Toronto, Canada. Starting as the Director of Finance and eventually advancing to VP, Finance, they played a crucial role in leading all finance functions, contributing to the company's growth, and facilitating its acquisition by Square Inc.

Earlier in their career, Hellen gained valuable experience at OpenText, a billion-dollar global software company, where they served as the Manager, Acquisitions. In this role, they were involved in numerous merger and acquisition transactions, handling due diligence, valuations, deal closing, PPA, and post-acquisition integrations.

Hellen started their professional journey at Ernst & Young LLP, where they worked as a Staff Accountant and eventually rose to the position of Manager, Assurance Services. Hellen also gained experience as an Expatriate Tax Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and as an Accounting Assistant at Suncor Energy.

Throughout their career, Hellen has demonstrated expertise in finance, accounting, acquisitions, and assurance services. Hellen has a track record of effectively managing financial operations, driving company growth, and facilitating successful acquisitions.

Hellen Hou pursued their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from the University of Toronto Scarborough from 2003 to 2007.
