John Gorsuch has been working in the field of research and development since 2010. From 2010-2014, they worked at the University of Cincinnati as an Undergraduate Researcher and Undergraduate Assistant. During this time, they conducted experiments of their own design, assisted with research and animal husbandry, and was awarded three research grants. In 2014, they began working at BiOWiSH Technologies as a Staff Microbiologist, Principal Scientist, and Director of Research and Development. As Director of Research & Development, they are responsible for supervising and developing teams of scientists, ensuring that R&D delivers solutions grounded in solid science, and facilitating accurate communication between the labs and the consumers of their data. As Principal Scientist, they are responsible for QC assay development and optimization, writing and implementing laboratory SOPs, performing routine testing on product retains, and optimizing assays to monitor levels of individual taxa in mixed-assemblage products. As Staff Microbiologist, they are responsible for carrying out enumeration assays and benchtop mode of action examinations for BiOWiSH products.
